Cairns is a modern and vibrant city offering a gateway to the Wet Tropics World Heritage Rainforest, Port Douglas, and the famous Great Barrier Reef. There is a 10-minute stop at the spectacular Barron Falls Station for a bird’s eye view of the Barron Falls.
Trip to Green Island
Situated just 45-minutes away from the coast of Cairns, Green Island is a wonderful 6000-year-old coral caye located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. It is a world heritage site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. You can easily make a day trip to the island and enjoy your day snorkelling, nature walks. You can also opt for a tour on a glass-bottom boat or semi-submarine to view the stunning local corals.
Rainforest Hike
Located around 1.5 hours away from Cairns is the stunning Mossman Gorge which is a part of the Daintree Rainforest. Visit this place for a beautiful hike as it will surely give you the ultimate tropical rainforest experience. Work up a sweat and take a dip in the gorge at the end to forget all the tiredness.
