Life around University of Sydney

University of Sydney is one of the best universities in the world. This is also considered one of the leading universities in Australia and was founded back in 1850. The university has also been known as one of the 6 sandstone universities in the campus and has also been considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world. Even the student accommodation Sydney around the university are very well designed and have all the spacious luxuries that a student can want.

COLLEGES

Of the three I disliked Unicode the most. It was very overpriced, the service wasn’t great and there were minimal activities for you to meet other students. On top of all these facilities were average, and non-students can live there so I had a family next door to me.

St John’s College was a lot of fun if you like to meet new people, experience new things and get really involved in Unit life. Again it is quite expensive so this option isn’t ideal unless you can afford to foot the bill. I would recommend for people new to Sydney looking to make friends quickly and enjoy a beer or two. It is also very close to student accommodation Sydney.

Sydney University Village was by far the best. Decently priced accommodation (although has been going up in the last few years), shared or single housing, community-style living, great amenities, and good location. I would recommend this if you are looking to make friends, want cheap accommodation and aren’t interested in many extra activities.

TRANSPORT

The city is well-connected by public transport which includes trains, buses, trams, and ferries. Buses are the main and only mode of transport in much of the Eastern and Northern suburbs of Sydney. You can also opt for an Opal card which is valid for all transport in Sydney to avail cheaper fares. Central Station is the main train station located between Chinatown and Surry Hills.

RENT

Sydney is considered as one of the most liveable cities in the world despite its high cost of living. The average rent of student accommodation near the Central Business District (CBD) area is A$350-A$580 a week, with all the markets, malls, and pubs in proximity to the accommodation. Due to expensive campus accommodation, it’s better to take purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), which is the most cost-effective solution as a student. These are private student accommodation with campus-like facilities designed for student living with all utility bills (electricity, gas, water, Wi-Fi) usually included in the rent.

The student accommodations around this city have also reached a level of affordability which is pretty much unmatched by other regions. Therefore, students can enjoy a one of a kind experience in living in these homes and making a better life for themselves. While a lot of student accommodation Sydney centres focus on the way students would wish to live as roommates, there are also some housing options for others.

Therefore, you can see the benefits of studying in the University of Sydney. The main purpose of studying here is to get a fabulous degree which can take your career to the next level and have you ready for a future filled with amazing skills.
